A beloved but neglected Nautic
The Nautic de Paris, a mythical event that was once a must for the industry, has been in agony for the past ten years. This poor Nautic took its toll, with many grievances attributed to it: too long, too expensive, impacted by strikes and by a slow erosion of the market and of the public's appetite for indoors shows.
Exhibitors abandoned the Paris event, preferring to devote their budgets to other forms of commercial action. In 2023, the final straw came with the cancellation of the event.
Le Bourget: the place to sail
Against all odds, after having shunned it, many industry professionals have called for the return of the legendary Paris show. After two unsuccessful attempts, FIN has finally succeeded in setting up a new show, with a format similar to that of its predecessor. A return to an indoor format, 25 minutes by RER from the center of Paris, at the end of November, but over just 5 days.
The Parc des Expositions du Bourget is a modern venue for major events, relatively easy to get to, and capable of accommodating large units.
In a difficult economic climate for the yachting industry, expectations are very high, and the organizers will have no room for error. The major shipyards and a number of equipment manufacturers have responded. 250 exhibitors, i.e. 300 to 400 boats, are expected, and 100,000 visitors are expected for this first edition, i.e. a third of Nautic's attendance in its heyday.
The Porte de Versailles has been a place of dreams for generations of apprentice and experienced sailors alike. Let's hope that this new chapter in the history of the Paris show will once again inspire dreams and become a benchmark for exhibitors and boaters alike!
