A new start for Fairline Yachts

Founded in 1963, Fairline Yachts is renowned for its luxury yachts built in Oundle, Northamptonshire. The company employs around 250 people at two sites in Oundle and Suffolk. Despite a strong reputation and an estimated order book of £100 million at the beginning of 2024, Fairline has experienced financial difficulties, including a drop in sales from £48.3 million in 2022 to £41.1 million in 2023. âeuros
Bronzewood Capital takes control

On March 25, 2025, a new entity, Fairline Holdco Limited, was registered with the British Companies Registry. Bronzewood Capital, headed by David Buchler, former vice-president of Tottenham Hotspur soccer club and a seasoned turnaround professional, has acquired Fairline's brand assets and production facilities. However, this acquisition does not include the Oundle factory, which will continue to be leased, or the debts of Fairline Yachts Limited. âeuros
Maintaining production and employment

According to sources close to Bronzewood, the company plans to retain the majority of Fairline's employees. David Buchler commented: "Fairline is one of the great brands. Customers can have confidence, the company is now properly funded and we are moving positively into the future." He also confirmed that the entire range of Fairline boats would continue to be built at Oundle by existing staff, while a six-month evaluation would be carried out to optimize operations. âeuros
Future prospects and challenges
Despite this acquisition, Fairline still faces a number of challenges, including the management of significant debts to various creditors and the need to stabilize its financial situation. Bronzewood Capital is committed to evaluating the operational aspects of the business to ensure sustainable and profitable expansion. This acquisition marks a new stage for Fairline Yachts, with the hope of restoring its position in the luxury yacht market.
