Garmin crowned supplier of the year by the American institution IBBI

For the second year running, Garmin has been named Supplier of the Year by the Independent Boat Builders Inc (IBBI). This award recognizes the quality of Garmin's products and services in the world of marine electronics, and confirms the brand's strategic position with North America's largest shipyards.

A distinction awarded by shipbuilding professionals

IBBI brings together a network of fifteen owner-builders, who together account for more than a quarter of the boats sold each year in North America. Each year, this group of builders analyzes the performance of its suppliers in several areas: product quality, operational excellence, innovation, logistics and after-sales service. In 2025, Garmin achieved an exceptional satisfaction rate of 99%, the highest ever recorded by IBBI since the award's inception.

A solid partnership at the heart of Garmin's B2B strategy

At the IBBI's annual conference, held in Orlando on March 11, 2025, Dave Dunn, Garmin's Director of Marine and RV Sales, was presented with the Supplier of the Year trophy. He praised a relationship of trust with the IBBI and its members:

"This award reflects our shared commitment to providing high-quality products and impeccable service to construction sites and their end customers." .

This recognition adds to that of the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), which named Garmin "Manufacturer of the Year" for the tenth year running in 2024.

A long-standing player in on-board electronics

Founded in 1989 by Gary Burrell and Min Kao, Garmin first established itself in the field of GPS for aviation and automobiles, before developing ranges dedicated to marine and outdoor sports. Headquartered in Olathe, Kansas (USA), the company employs over 19,000 people worldwide. In 2023, Garmin achieved sales of $5.23 billion, with a growing share coming from its marine division. Its success is based on vertical integration of its technologies, mastery of the production chain and a strong culture of innovation.
