Alka Marine Solutions: a maintenance base for service vessels

The first company to set up is Alka Marine Solutions specializing in the maintenance and development of service vessels, particularly for offshore wind turbines. Currently based in Montoir-de-Bretagne (Loire-Atlantique), Versailles (Yvelines) and Lausanne (Switzerland), the company has acquired a 300 m² mechanical workshop for 126,000 euros.
With this new location, Alka Marine Solutions intends to create a maintenance base dedicated to servicing vessels operating in the English Channel, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. The aim of this expansion is to centralize operations and strengthen the company's presence on the Brittany coast. Eight new jobs are expected to be created on the site, contributing to the local economic dynamism.
Bord à Bord: enhanced production capacity

The second company to move into Sibiril's former premises is Edge to edge a shipyard specializing in the design and manufacture of aluminum boats. Based in Plestin-les-Grèves (Côtes-d'Armor), the company currently employs 34 people. It has acquired a 580 m² molding shop for 232,000 euros.
This new facility is a response to the growth of Bord à Bord, which had already expanded its capacities by acquiring the Amares company in Guimaëc in 2023. From now on, the Carantec workshop will be used to subcontract part of its production, with a gradual ramp-up. By 2028, six new jobs should be created on the site.
A strategic maritime location

The acquisition of these premises by Alka Marine Solutions and Bord à Bord testifies to the attractiveness of the Carantec site for the marine industry. With direct access to the sea, it offers ideal conditions for ship maintenance and production activities.
Negotiations are underway with potential buyers for the remaining 940 m² building. According to Morlaix Communauté, it should be divided into two lots to better meet market needs.
With these new arrivals, the former Sibiril shipyard has regained its industrial and nautical dynamism, confirming Carantec's place as an attractive maritime hub in Brittany.
