Grand Banks Yachts boosts production with new composites plant in Malaysia

Yesterday, Grand Banks Yachts inaugurated a new composite manufacturing plant in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. This state-of-the-art facility marks a key milestone in the group's expansion, reinforcing its status as one of Asia's leading luxury boatbuilding infrastructures.

Increased production capacity

Thanks to this expansion, the production site has gained a further 13,313 m², an increase of 25%, bringing the yard's total surface area to almost 65,032 m². The new facility enables Grand Banks Yachts to bring the entire manufacturing process under one roof, optimizing control and command of the various production stages. The plant features the integration of advanced technologies, including eight-axis robots, a test tank and engineering laboratories, enabling larger yachts to be built with greater precision and efficiency.

Innovation for performance and sustainability

The integration of optimized resin infusion techniques and specific blends enhances the group's proprietary V-Warp technology, offering lighter, stronger and more fuel-efficient hulls. As part of an environmental initiative, solar panels have also been installed on the roof of the plant to supply its operations with green electricity.

Development in step with market growth

This expansion comes at a time of strong growth for Grand Banks Yachts. The company has stepped up its marketing efforts and strengthened its customer commitment, particularly in North America, where demand for its yachts is rising sharply. This momentum has enabled the Group to record an order book of S$109.8 million at December 31, 2024.

A strategic vision for the future

Basil Chan, President of Grand Banks Yachts, emphasizes that this modernization is part of a global strategy to improve boat quality, increase internal efficiency and achieve economies of scale. Investment in new technologies and production processes will help strengthen the company's fundamentals, guaranteeing better service for customers and sustainable added value for shareholders. With this new infrastructure, Grand Banks Yachts is more than ever positioned as a major player in the high-end yacht building sector.
