A strategic collaboration for motorboat racing
The announcement marks an important step for Mercury Marine, which aims to develop the visibility and accessibility of its Mercury Racing range in France. From now on, Lethiec, based in Pégomas near Cannes, will distribute Mercury Racing outboard and inboard engines, spare parts and accessories for inshore and offshore racing.
This collaboration is based on Lethiec's technical expertise and racing experience. Yannick Lethiec, the company's managing director, has a solid understanding of racing engines and drivers' needs. By regularly taking part in technical training courses, notably in the United States, he ensures that he has mastered the latest technological advances to provide effective support for French competitors.
A stronger presence on French circuits
Lethiec's appointment comes at a time of renewed interest in motorboat racing in France. In 2024, Mercury Marine had already supported several stages of the French Formula 4 Championship, and this partnership consolidates this momentum. Yannick Lethiec confirmed that engines from the APX range, specially designed for competition, will be available in his showroom from February 2025.
Drivers and teams will also benefit from personalized support: technical assistance during races, regular information on Mercury Racing innovations, and performance monitoring of top-of-the-range V12 and inboard engines.
Lethiec, recognized expertise
Founded in 1962, Lethiec is a benchmark in boat sales, repair and maintenance, as well as in high-quality customer service. This expertise earned it the CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) award from Mercury Marine at the end of 2024.
With the opening of its new office at Port de la Rague in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Lethiec is strengthening its proximity to customers and competitors in the region, facilitating access to cutting-edge technical services.
An ambitious vision for Mercury Racing
Yann Diquerreau, Marketing Manager for Mercury Marine France, sees this collaboration as an opportunity to demonstrate the performance and reliability of Mercury engines, particularly through direct support for competitions. The 60 APX, designed for Formula 4, and the 250 APX, from the Verado series, illustrate this desire to reconcile technological innovation with the demands of motorboat racing.
This partnership between Mercury Racing and Lethiec reflects a shared ambition: to develop motorboat racing in France while promoting the quality of Mercury products.
