MB92 acquires GYG Ltd. and strengthens its position in the superyacht sector

The MB92 Group, a global specialist in superyacht maintenance and refurbishment, has announced the acquisition of GYG Ltd, operating under the Pinmar, Pinmar Yacht Supply and Technocraft brands. This strategic acquisition, finalized in December 2024, is part of MB92's drive to strengthen its leadership while promoting innovation and sustainability in the superyacht sector.

A strategic acquisition to strengthen MB92's leadership

The MB92 Group, a major player in superyacht repair and maintenance, has announced the acquisition of GYG Ltd, a company specializing in superyacht painting, maintenance and supplies. GYG operates under well-known brands such as Pinmar, Pinmar Yacht Supply and Technocraft.

Finalized on December 31, 2024, this acquisition marks a key step in MB92's strategic development plan, which seeks to grow through consolidation. The Group had already strengthened its presence in Europe with the acquisition of the Golfe-Juan shipyard in October 2024.

Brands that maintain their independence

Although now part of the MB92 group, GYG brands will continue to operate independently in Europe and the United States. This strategy aims to preserve their identity while benefiting from synergies with MB92, notably through the management of large-scale painting projects.

Pepe García-Aubert, President of MB92, emphasized:
"We are honored to welcome GYG to the MB92 Group. Together, we can share knowledge and improve our services while making progress on sustainability and innovation initiatives."

A partnership for sustainable growth

The acquisition of GYG gives MB92 access to recognized expertise in paint application and superyacht maintenance, while paving the way for innovations in project management and digitization.

Rémy Millott, CEO of GYG, sees the merger as an opportunity to strengthen operations:
"With MB92's support, we can optimize our services and explore new opportunities, while maintaining high quality standards."

Support from Squircle Capital

The acquisition was made possible with the support of Squircle Capital, the European fund that owns MB92. According to John Nery, Managing Partner at Squircle, the deal reflects a commitment to excellence in the superyacht sector:
"With MB92's financial resources, GYG will be able to strengthen its operational and strategic capabilities, while paving the way for new growth prospects."

MB92, a fast-growing player

This acquisition joins other strategic developments for MB92, such as the opening of a repair center in Sindalah, Saudi Arabia in 2023, and the partnership with the America's Cup via its Barcelona site.
