On January 2, 2025, Privilège Marine announced the appointment of Pascal Heems as Managing Director, succeeding Gildas Le Masson, in office since March 2024 . This change comes just nine months after the takeover of position of former Nautitech Catamaran CEO in a context marked by major economic challenges for the Les Sables d'Olonne shipyard.

Gildas Le Masson, who arrived shortly after the takeover by the Czech PPF Group, had initiated a restructuring plan, the outlines of which were difficult to define with the workforce. His departure reflects the complexity of the social and economic situation at the shipyard, which is struggling to fill its order book.

Pascal Heems brings to Privilège Marine solid experience in managing business transformations. Recognized for his ability to improve operational performance and refocus organizations on their priorities, he will be implementing appropriate solutions to keep the shipyard afloat.

A construction site in search of economic stability

For several months now, Privilège Marine has been facing an economic and social crisis. A job protection plan (PSE) has been launched, threatening 64 of the 165 jobs at the shipyard. Negotiations with the social and economic committee are proving difficult, and the internal climate is tense.

In this context, Pascal Heems will not only have to stabilize the company, but also reassure employees and customers, while continuing with current projects.

A vision focused on the future and excellence

In his first press release as General Manager, Pascal Heems expressed his ambition:

"I'm honored to be joining an iconic shipyard that embodies excellence in craftsmanship and technological innovation. My goal is to continue to meet the expectations of the most demanding sailors and prepare the company for the challenges of tomorrow."
