After cancellation in 2024, the Aix-les-Bains Boat Show returns in 2025

The cancellation of the Aix-les-Bains Boat Show in 2024, mainly due to a lack of volunteers, has caused some concern. However, the Club des Plaisanciers du Lac du Bourget has already announced its return for 2025, testifying to the dynamism of the sector's professionals.

The expected return of the Salon du Nautisme in 2025

The Salon du Nautisme d'Aix-les-Bains is a local event for boaters and water sports enthusiasts alike. Traditionally held at the Petit Port over an area of 14,000m2, the fifty or so exhibitors showcase local know-how and the units sold by local dealers.

Entirely free of charge, the show offers visitors the chance to try out a range of water sports: sailing, rowing, water-skiing (under 10), diving, paddling or canoeing.

Lack of volunteers jeopardizes 2024 edition

The organization of such a show relies heavily on the commitment of dedicated volunteers. According to the Club des Plaisanciers du Lac du Bourget, the difficulty of mobilizing volunteers over the long term was a determining factor in the decision to cancel the 2024 edition. This situation reflects a broader trend observed in many associations, where long-term volunteer commitment is becoming increasingly rare.

A revitalized associative dynamic

Despite this cancellation, the Club des Plaisanciers du Lac du Bourget remains a dynamic association with over 300 members. At their general meeting in December 2024, attended by Mayor Renaud Beretti, the members reaffirmed their commitment to promoting boating activities on Lac du Bourget.

While dates have not yet been set for the 27 e edition, the organizers plan to attract a wider visitor base, by staging a popular festival that will help to raise the profile of Aix-les-Bains and promote nautical activities on Lac du Bourget.
