5 boating and yachting startups selected for Index Blue Tech 2025

At the MEDEF headquarters in Paris, the French Maritime Cluster presented the 40 startups selected for the second edition of the Blue Tech Index. Among them are 5 yachting and boating companies. This initiative aims to support maritime innovation in France and promote promising start-ups in the sector, at a time when ecological transition and blue technologies are priorities.

A booming maritime ecosystem

The maritime sector plays a key role in the ecological and energy transition. More than a thousand French startups are working in fields such as ocean protection, ship decarbonization and sustainable aquaculture. The Blue Tech Index, launched in 2023 by the French Maritime Cluster (CMF), supports this momentum by highlighting the sector's most promising young companies.

40 startups selected for Season 2

For this 2024-2025 edition, the selection committee has chosen 40 startups divided into eight categories, including a new one dedicated to boating and yachting. This expansion reflects the diversity and dynamism of maritime innovation. Among the participants, K-Challenge, a major player in maritime sport-tech, provided an inspiring testimonial, while Yves Parlier was hailed as Committed Entrepreneur of the Year.

The five companies selected for the yachting department are :

  • K-Ren, which markets protective tarpaulins for hulls, eliminating the need for antifouling
  • Temo, designer and manufacturer of electric outboard motors
  • 52 Hertz, a company based in Brest, France, is finalizing the research and development of the first underwater walkie-talkie.
  • FinX , designer and manufacturer of propellerless electric outboard motors
  • Falco, which develops digital tools enabling ports to reduce management costs and improve customer satisfaction

A meeting place for financing innovation

The launch event at the MEDEF brought together startups, investors and institutional partners. The Index Blue Tech does more than just promote startups. It makes them part of a collective dynamic driven by public policy and environmental priorities. The aim: to develop a sustainable and sovereign blue economy, capable of meeting the challenges of the 21? century.
