A market under pressure, an adapting federation
After two years of intense post-Covid activity, the nautical sector has been experiencing a slowdown since the end of 2023, against a tense economic and geopolitical backdrop. This downturn has led the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN) to adjust its strategies to meet the expectations of professionals and the current challenges. While this context has weighed on the cancellation of the Nautic en Seine project scheduled for 2025, FIN and industry players are working to design a major event in the Paris region, federating professionals, institutions and the general public around boating.
Boat shows: a central issue
The trade shows organized by M2O, a subsidiary of FIN, remain strategic priorities for the industry. Among them, the Salon international du multicoque à La Grande-Motte, to be held from April 23 to 27, 2025, stands out as a must-attend event for catamaran and trimaran enthusiasts and professionals, both sailing and motor. In 2025, a dedicated marina will further enhance the event's appeal.
Stronger management for targeted action
After nine years at the head of FIN, Fabien Métayer is stepping down as General Delegate. Under the chairmanship of Jean-Paul Chapeleau, management is now entrusted to Olivier Bougan, General Secretary, and Guillaume Arnauld des Lions, Deputy General Delegate. This new organization is designed to enhance the federation's responsiveness and efficiency in a constantly changing environment.
More action in the field
To meet the local needs of professionals, FIN has created a commission dedicated to territorial action. Chaired by Jean-Paul Chapeleau, it is supported by regional vice-presidents, including Collette Certoux (Occitanie) and Bruno Voisard (Bretagne and Pays de la Loire). Their mission: to coordinate local industries, represent the FIN in dealings with institutions, and promote federal initiatives on both coastal and inland waters.
