MB92 strengthens its presence in the Mediterranean
MB92 La Ciotat announces the acquisition of the Golfe-Juan shipyard, strengthening its position in the yacht refit sector. Strategically located in the south of France, this new site will enable the group to accommodate units up to 45 meters in length. With this acquisition, MB92 intends to intensify its presence in the world's major yachting hubs.
This shipyard is part of MB92's global development strategy, aimed at increasing the number of service outlets for yacht owners and captains in the Mediterranean. By integrating the Golfe-Juan shipyard, the Group expands its network, which already includes sites in Barcelona and La Ciotat.
Modernizing and improving environmental standards
The Golfe-Juan site will undergo major investment to modernize infrastructures and bring them into line with MB92's ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) standards. This includes improvements in water treatment, waste management and energy efficiency.
The aim is to make the site a model of sustainability, while meeting the expectations of customers and the local community. " We aim to provide Golfe-Juan with the same level of quality and attention to detail for which MB92 is renowned worldwide "says Rob Papworth, General Manager of MB92 La Ciotat.
Recognized expertise in yacht refits
With over 25 years' experience, MB92 Group has become a benchmark in the refit of exceptional yachts. The La Ciotat shipyard, in particular, handles over 100 projects a year, ranging from simple maintenance to complete refits.
The new Golfe-Juan site will benefit from this expertise, particularly for yachts under 50 meters, a fast-growing market segment. The shipyard plans to collaborate with local subcontractors and MB92's network of partners, to guarantee optimum quality of the services offered.
A broader offering for yacht owners
MB92's strategy is not limited to infrastructure modernization. The group also intends to offer a broader range of services, tailored to the specific needs of yachts under 50 meters. The Golfe-Juan shipyard should thus become an attractive hub for owners looking for tailor-made refit solutions, while benefiting from proven technical expertise.
At the same time, the yard will continue to collaborate with European shipyards to ensure efficient after-sales service, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, composites and carpentry.
Opening up to a sustainable future
The acquisition of the Golfe-Juan shipyard is part of MB92's broader commitment to sustainable development. The group recently launched the "Refit for the Future" program, which aims to reduce the ecological footprint of superyachts while optimizing their operating costs. This approach echoes MB92's commitment to a more environmentally-friendly industry, an issue that has become central to yacht owners.
