HanseYachts AG, founded in 1990 in Greifswald on the Baltic Sea coast, has established itself as a key player in the global shipbuilding industry. Specializing in the production of sailboats and motorboats, the company distributes its products under several prestigious brand names, including Hanse, Dehler and Moody for sailboats, and Fjord and Sealine for motorboats.
An exceptional 2023-2024
For the 2023-2024 financial year, HanseYachts has recorded forecast sales of 184.9 million euros, the highest since the company was founded. This excellent result reflects the solidity of the strategy adopted by the Group, and its ability to adapt to a market in the throes of normalization after years of strong demand. The company also posted EBITDA of 11 million euros, with a margin of 5.9%.
Strategic diversification of models
HanseYachts is well known for its diversified portfolio of boats. The group offers over 40 different models, suitable for a wide range of customers, from amateur yachtsmen to experienced sailors. Hanse, Dehler and Moody yachts, ranging from 9 to 20 meters, are designed in collaboration with renowned naval architects such as Judel/Vrolijk & Co and Berret-Racoupeau.
At the same time, the Fjord and Sealine motorboat ranges enable HanseYachts to meet the growing demand for high-performance, elegant motorboats. This multi-brand approach enables the Group to cover a broad market segment.
Innovation as a growth driver
HanseYachts' financial results for 2023-2024 are partly attributable to its commitment to innovation. Recent models, such as the Moody DS48 and the Hanse 360, have been well received by the market and have even been nominated for European Yacht of the Year. Meanwhile, larger models such as the Hanse 590 and the future FJORD 490 will underpin the Group's growth ambitions in the years ahead.
Stefan Zimmermann, COO of HanseYachts, emphasizes that, "We're very proud of our products innovation has been key to these good results, and we continue to introduce models that make an impact and meet the expectations of modern boaters. "
An ambitious outlook for the future
Despite the challenges of today's very difficult market, HanseYachts remains confident about the future. The company is aiming for an EBITDA margin in excess of 10% over the next few years, thanks to ongoing optimization of its manufacturing processes and rigorous cost management.
