In the heart of the Pacific, the Saga Bora Bora 2024 initiative is a life-saving experience for vulnerable children in the Society Islands. Between sailing and discovery, this adventure offers a breath of salt air and educational opportunities for those who need it most.

In a world where early marginalization and psychological fragility all too often threaten children's futures, the Saga Bora Bora 2024 project stands as a bulwark. Initiated by social workers and specialized educators, this program aims to offer a transformative experience to young people facing various social and family difficulties. Through sailing and immersion in the exceptional marine environment of Bora Bora, participants find a setting conducive to personal development and the learning of fundamental values.

Blossoming through learning to sail

The children targeted by Saga Bora Bora 2024 face a variety of difficulties: abuse, precariousness, failure at school or physical deficiencies. These realities compromise their emotional and social development, requiring innovative educational and therapeutic responses. Saga complements traditional programs, offering children a safe environment where they can rebuild their lives through sailing and community life.

Saga aims to develop a series of crucial skills in young participants, such as community living, a sense of responsibility, autonomy, initiative, respect for the marine environment and personal balance, through sailing and related activities. At the same time, by fostering exchanges between children from different archipelagos, Saga encourages the creation of lasting bonds and the exploration of new life perspectives, with the essential support of host families offering a warm and secure family environment, far from their usual daily routine.

A nautical and cultural adventure for all

Saga Bora Bora 2024 has been deployed in several key phases to foster the development of participants. During the 2024 summer vacations, from June 30 to August 04, the children were welcomed on Bora Bora's motu Taurere for an intense nautical immersion. They also benefited from an advanced course at Christmas at the École de Voile d'Arue, enriching their marine experience throughout the year. These emblematic sites offer ideal settings for nautical activities and intercultural exchanges between children from different horizons.
