BoatOn, a startup based in Bordeaux, is actively involved in the ecological transition. By joining ADEME's Environmental Transition program, it offers training courses for professionals in the maritime sector to reduce their environmental impact.
BoatOn joins ADEME program
The BoatOn startup has been selected from among eight companies to join the first promotion of ADEME's Environmental Transition program, in partnership with Tourisme Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine. For one year, BoatOn's managers will follow training courses and workshops to transform their business models and those of their customers, in order to better respond to climate challenges.
Training to reduce your carbon footprint
In June 2024, BoatOn launched a training program designed to help customers reduce their carbon footprint. These government-funded training courses cover four main topics:
- the energy transition
- the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) standards
- good maintenance practices
- personnel management in sensitive environments
An automatic, connected logbook
BoatOn made a name for itself with its automatic logbook, the BoatOn Book. This software, using AIS data or the user's smartphone, records in real time the ports of departure and arrival, the route taken, speed, course, fuel consumption, and the operating hours of on-board equipment. It also provides time-stamped weather data for each navigation. Available as a digital or printable version, this logbook simplifies checks by the authorities.
Crew management: a development for professionals
In 2024, BoatOn launched a crew management module, enabling working hours to be recorded via an electronic time clock and absence requests to be made with just a few clicks. Managers have an interface for monitoring working hours, approving leave and creating attendance schedules.
This module offers a simple, MLC-, STCW- and OPA-compliant solution. Data entered can be downloaded, e-mailed or printed, facilitating the management of maritime personnel.
