Tringaboat in receivership

Breton amphibious boat builder Tringaboat has finally failed to turn its fortunes around. The company, founded in 2011 by Guirec Daniel, had developed boats with wheels and road homologation. Placed in receivership in November 2023, the proceedings were finally converted to liquidation on May 29, 2024 by the Saint-Brieuc court.

Ribcraft opens a factory in India

Well-known British manufacturer of RIBs, Ribcraft is expanding its global presence. Already producing in the UK and the United Arab Emirates, and with sales offices in Australia and the USA, the company is now opening a factory in India, in Porbander, Gujarat. With a surface area of 2,500 m2 and the capacity for rapid expansion, the plant will be able to meet Indian demand and respond to the local Made in India policy.

21 million for boating infrastructure

Biden administration releases $21 million to invest in boating-related infrastructure. Allocated to 21 states, the funds will be used to build, renovate and maintain marinas and other facilities providing access to bodies of water. The administration is counting on 187 new slips and docks and nearly 2,400 linear meters of berths.

Gepy authorized to validate professional sailors' files

The Groupement des équipages professionnels du yachting (Gepy) has signed an agreement with the Direction interministérielle de la mer de la Méditerranée to facilitate administrative procedures for sailors and owners of large yachts. Under a special protocol, it will now be able to process requests for revalidation of yachtsmen's certificates, a regular requirement.

Saxdor opens a new site in Finland

The Saxdor brand of sport and adventure powerboats expands its production capacity by opening a new factory in Larsmo, Finland, a region renowned for its top-of-the-range shipyards such as Baltic Yachts and Nautor Swan.

Axopar acquires a majority stake in its main Polish supplier

In a move towards vertical integration, Axopar has announced the purchase of a majority stake in the Polish company Markos. Founded in 1991, Markos employs 1,200 people and will generate sales of ?71 million in 2023. Markos is Axopar's most important hull subcontractor, working for numerous other shipyards. The German shipyard Fassmer, another customer, will remain a minority shareholder alongside Axopar, which intends to rely on the shipyard to pursue its R&D developments, while continuing to work with other suppliers to meet demand from yachtsmen, notably the Polish MPPB J.W. Slepsk.

RAD Propulsion raises £4.27 million

UK-based RAD Propulsion, a specialist in electric motors for pleasure craft, has announced the closing of a £4.27 million fundraising round with One Planet Capital, Ocean Infinity, The FSE Group, High Growth Robotics, backed by Blake Morgan LLP, Fair Advisers and existing investors. The money will enable the company to scale up and mass-produce the RAD 40, as well as working on a 120 kW model in development.

OneWater in negotiations to take over MarineMax

Although negotiations have not yet been concluded, the American company OneWater has confirmed in a press release that it is in negotiations with its main competitor MarineMax to acquire the company. The deal would create a heavyweight in the sector, bringing together the 2 leading boat dealers in the USA.
