Combining chartered accountancy, maritime payroll and shipping management
Les Experts Maritimes, due to be launched by summer 2024, is the result of a meeting between 3 partners who are already firmly rooted in the maritime world. Marie Duchemann and Arnaud Savin, employees of a maritime cooperative in La Rochelle, acquired expertise in maritime payroll management, while Arnaud Savin acquired his know-how as a specialized chartered accountant. For his part, Benjamin Bideau, with his company Around Skipper, accompanies and recruits sailors for pleasure boats, on charter or for private individuals. Given that the specialization of the profession, particularly since the introduction of the DSN in the maritime sector in 2021, has led the majority of chartered accountants to abandon the maritime sector, they felt it would be useful to offer a single point of contact to both private and professional shipowners looking for support. Marie Duchemann explains: "Today they increasingly have 3 different contacts for chartered accountancy, marine payroll and shipping management. We offer these services in a single package to shipping companies and individuals. Our established relationships with ENIM, URSSAF and Affaires Maritimes enable us to be very efficient."
Supporting the evolution of the sector
The mission of the Onboard experts is to provide shipowners with the best possible support in the face of changes in the sector, by following their needs. Arnaud Savin explains: "We talk to shipowners, but also via brokers, we'll advise their customers. Depending on the program planned with the boat, we'll find the best operating model. We note that regulations are increasingly making it compulsory to fit out a boat as a NUC for skippered charter. For example, we'll be able to help you with all the administrative paperwork
Favoring French sailors and French flags
Thanks to their expertise in French law, the 3 associates also intend to support the domestic industry, in the face of players preferring to call on flags and companies based abroad. Benjamin Bideau sums up this philosophy in a few words: "We want to put French sailors to work, not banana hulls. The idea is to help the private owner and show that simple assemblies can be done in France."
