Nicols switches to HVO in Alsace
River boat rental expert Nicols marks a new stage in its commitment to sustainable development. Its Saverne base in Alsace has seen its entire fleet of 27 boats converted to HVO fuel. The move away from diesel to biodegradable, renewable hydrotreated vegetable oil is gaining ground in the river-boating sector, with competitor Les Canalous also announcing the switch of its entire fleet to HVO.
Agreement between Boero and Alliance Marine
Italian marine paint specialist Boero YachtCoatings has signed an agreement with French distributor Alliance Marine. According to Boero, the leading French wholesaler will enable Boero to consolidate its presence in the country, notably through the Sogeric, HDS and VDM Reya networks.
Astusboats expands its network in Asia
Astusboats, the Breton builder of folding trimarans, has acquired a new Asian distributor. Kent Wong's Hong Kong-based company 28Goods will represent the French multihull builder on the Pacific coast of Southeast Asia.
A FIN commission for territorial action
The Nautical Industries Federation is once again structuring its action around the coastal facades, with the creation of a dedicated commission. The commission includes 3 members, all vice-presidents: Colette Certoux for Occitanie, Bruno Voisard for Pays de la Loire and Bretagne, and Richard Gibeaud for the southern PACA region. For the moment, there are no members for 3 coastal regions: Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Normandie and Hauts de France.
Renewed support for French Olympic Week
On Tuesday April 9, 2024, the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile) and the town of Hyères signed an agreement renewing their partnership for the organization of the Semaine Olympique Française - SOF, for the 2025 and 2026 editions. This is the continuation of 50 years of collaboration between the town of Hyères and the FFVoile, joined by the Toulon Provence Méditerranée Metropolis for over a decade.
Positive results for the International Multihull Show 2024
The Fédération des Industries Nautiques, in its first year at the helm of the Grande Motte international multihull boat show, is delighted with the positive results. Without giving precise attendance figures, it estimates the proportion of foreign visitors at between 55% and 60%, including 45% from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the UK, and 10% from North America. 160 exhibitors were present, and 80 journalists were accredited.
FNBE changes logo
The Fédération Nationale des Bateaux-Écoles is revamping its graphic charter. A new logo has been unveiled for the organization, which boasts 31 member schools and 33 years of existence.
Occitanie industry contract signed
At the IMS in La Grande Motte, the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN), the French government and the Occitanie Region signed the Nautical Industries and Services Contract. For FIN, it's a recognition of the importance of the region's yachting businesses and a reinforcement of its nautical identity.
