Corderie Lancelin goes under American flag

American Samson Rope announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire Corderie Henri Lancelin, a French specialist in ropes for pleasure boating and yachting. The merger will enhance the company's development capabilities and customer service, alongside an extensive rope portfolio.

Samson Rope acquires Corderie Henri Lancelin

Founded in 1907, Corderie Henri Lancelin, based in Ernée, Mayenne, has joined the American Samson Rope group. The American rope specialist, founded in 1879, has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the family business run by Nicolas Lancelin. Following the acquisition of Spain's Folch Ropes in 2023, rope manufacturer Samson Rope now has a well-established presence on both continents, with 2 plants in the USA (Washington State and Louisiana) and two in Europe (Barcelona and Ernée, Mayenne).

Technical and commercial synergies

Both parties are delighted with the merger, which should enable them to share their strengths in the development of new products, with their respective testing resources, such as Lancelin's 600-ton test bench, and to explore new uses and new treatments for ropes. Nicolas Lancelin is reassuring and enthusiastic about the future of the family business: "The Lancelin team is delighted to be joining Samson and we feel that our joint capabilities, product offering and presence will streamline and accentuate our customers' experience worldwide. Our customers can remain confident that we will continue to deliver our current product offering and an expanded product range."
