Privilège Marine: A new manager and an owner who's coming out of the woodwork

The PPF Group, the new owner of catamaran builder Privilège Marine, formalizes its acquisition and announces the arrival of a new operational manager, in charge of launching an innovation program, while reinforcing the shipyard's luxury positioning.

A new manager for a new shareholder

Vendée-based luxury catamaran specialist Privilège Marine is officially acquired by Czech investor PPF. The group, which operates in 25 countries and in various media, communications and e-commerce sectors, is making its 4th acquisition in the yachting sector in 3 years, following on from Dream Yacht Charter, Navigare Yachting in the charter sector alongside the Bénéteau group, and the South African shipyard Robertson and Caine. The transaction, which began discreetly at the end of 2023, is now official, and marks the second change in just a few months, following the Hanse Group's sale of Privilège Marine to its then CEO, Gilles Wagner.

On taking the helm, the PPF group also overhauled the organization chart, appointing Gildas Le Masson Managing Director of the shipyard, who has just left Nautitech after 6 years at the helm of the Charente-based catamaran specialist . He takes over the management of a company with an order book in excess of ?50 million and over 200 employees.

Innovative propulsion

Privilège Marine's new course and potential synergies with charter companies and the South African shipyard Robertson & Caine will not be detailed until April, but PPF has already announced its intention to remain in the premium blue water catamaran sector, in "Privilège's DNA". Innovation to find alternatives to fossil fuel propulsion is announced as key for the coming months.
