Appointments, departures, job changes... There's been movement at Volvo Penta, VMG Soromap, Fraser Yachts, OceansLab and ISO Petits Navires.

Change at Volvo Penta

Engine manufacturer Volvo Penta changes president. Heléne Mellquist, after 3 years at the helm of the Swedish equipment manufacturer, is leaving her post, for the vice-presidency of investment company Latour. As of December 1, 2023, she will be replaced by Anna Müller, current Vice President for Northern Europe at Volvo Trucks, who joined Volvo Penta in 2014.

Elodie Rosa leaves VMG Soromap

After 4 years with Charente-based equipment manufacturer Soromap as Export Manager, Elodie Rosa left the company at the end of July 2023.

Ex-Baltic Yachts man at the helm of Fraser Yachts

Anders Kurtén has been appointed Managing Director of brokerage firm Fraser Yachts. He was previously CEO of Finnish shipyard Baltic Yachts, a specialist in high-end sailing yachts. Fraser Yachts Chairman Chuck Cashman is delighted: Anders has a deep and pragmatic understanding of the yachting and luxury sectors, a knowledge and passion for the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications for better customer service and support, and experience in achieving sustained growth through handson activities on the inspiration and dynamism of the team. Antoine Mainfray joins OceansLab

Antoine Mainfray, naval architect and founder of the Atelier Interface shipyard, joins skipper Phil Sharp's team. He takes on the role of technical manager for the IMOCA Oceans Lab, currently being prepared for the Vendée Globe 2024.

Renewal of the chairmanship of the ISO Petits Navires committee

Craig Scholten , vice-president of the American Boat & Yacht Council, has been reappointed chairman of the ISO 188 small craft committee. He will continue to manage the various committees working on standards for pleasure craft under 24 m until 2026.
