Calzedonia Group takes control of Cantiere Del Pardo
Italian manufacturer Cantiere Del Pardo acquires a new majority shareholder. Calzedonia Group, a major player in Made in Italy, mainly in clothing and lingerie with the Calzedonia and Intimissimi brands, but also in wine, and the Wise Equity fund, a shareholder in the shipyard since 2020, announced on August 1, 2023 the signing of an agreement for the acquisition of Cantiere Del Pardo. The historic managers, Fabio Planamente and Gigi Servidati, will retain a minority shareholding in order to participate in the development of the group's future strategy and share their experience in the nautical sector.
Accelerated growth momentum
The shipyard, founded in 1973 around the Grand Soleil brand of sailing yachts, launched a range of motor yachts under the Pardo Yachts name in 2017. It then acquired the Dutch company VanDutch in 2020, confirming its commitment to rapid growth. At the same time, the sailboat range saw the development of large 65 and 72-foot models. In his acquisition press release, the new owner states his ambition to pursue this dynamic of rapid international growth and the development of new models.
