Temo opens a branch in Vannes
French electric motor manufacturer Temo has announced the opening of a new site in Vannes. While motor assembly will continue to take place in Carquefou, on the outskirts of Nantes, half the team will move to the new premises in Morbihan. The sales team, R&D and after-sales service - a total of 15 employees - will move in September 2023 to a 500 m2 former aquagym center, currently being refurbished.
A favorable nautical ecosystem
While he searched in various geographical areas, for Alexandre Seux, founder of Temo, Vannes' main interest was its nautical ecosystem: "This allows us to be closer to the shipyards and our customers, with large marinas nearby, in La Trinité, Crouesty and Lorient. There are many companies in the sector nearby. This comes at an important time for Temo, just as our incubation phase was coming to an end. It's an important step, which makes us even more autonomous."
Facilitate the development of more powerful electric motors
For Temo, the seaside location is also important to facilitate the development of future models in real-life conditions, stresses the founder: "Testing the motors in the current of the Gulf of Morbihan, in salt water, right next to the company has a real advantage over Nantes. All the more so with the new Temo 1000 model, where the warhead can also be used as a pod on a boat, but also with evolutions towards higher powers in the future."
The company, which has forecast sales of 2 Meuros in 2022, intends to continue its growth, and is expected to recruit at its Vannes site in the coming years.
