The AFBE Awards move to the Grand Pavois in 2023
After a year's break in 2022, the Association Française du Bateau Electrique, or AFBE, will once again be awarding its Trophées for electric boat innovations in 2023. After several editions at the Nautic in Paris, the results of the competition will be unveiled in 2023 at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle, a change that can be explained not only by the cancellation of the Nautic, stresses Yannick Willeveau, president of the AFBE: "The Grand Pavois has been positioning itself for several editions in the field of electric boats, and the show's partnership with EDF in particular, explains our choice to hold our awards ceremony there. It's also easier to organize the event and get good visibility at a show of this type."
A simplified, more open competition
Compared with previous editions, the AFBE Awards have become simpler and even more open," explains its Chairman: "The rules have been simplified. We've slightly modified the 4 categories, with a Technical Innovation Electric-Hybrid award, a Retrofit award, an Innovation in Electric-Hybrid use award and a Public's Favourite award. Whereas in the past they were reserved for boats, the trophies are now also open to equipment. And as always, the competition is open to everyone, including non-members of AFBE."
Applications to be submitted before the end of August 2023
The precise conditions of participation and the rules can be found on the Association Française du Bateau Electrique website. Companies or associations, whether manufacturers, charterers or owners of electric, hybrid or hydrogen-powered pleasure or touring boats, or equipment manufacturers, have until August 31, 2023 to submit their applications. The awards ceremony will be held on September 22, 2023, at the close of the "decarbonization of propulsion" round table
