Buy Marine Plaisance Service
Hunyvers, a major player in the distribution of leisure vehicles, based in Limoges, announced on May 24, 2023 that it had entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire the Marine Plaisance Service dealership. Based on the Arcachon basin, in Lège Cap Ferret, the company, founded in 1981, has 23 employees and sales in 2022 of 6 MÂeuros. The company, run by the Aicardi family, sells Invictus, Pacific Craft, Four Winns, Wellcraft, Cappelli and Seawater powerboats, as well as Yamaha engines, which it combines with maintenance and winterization services.
Final closing of the transaction is expected on June 30, 2023,
A stronger presence in the boating sector
This is Hunyvers' second acquisition in the marine sector. The Limousin-based group was founded in 2006, and specializes in motorhomes and touring boats. It has 15 concessions covering 45 brands. In September 2020, it signed its first acquisition in the boating sector, with the Nautic group and its three concessions for the sale, rental and management of pleasure boats, already in the Arcachon basin, in Arcachon, Biscarosse and Gujan-Mestras. Sales from the Nautic business represented 3.7% of Hunyvers' total sales for the 2021/2022 financial year, and 9.7% including the future acquisition.
The geographical complementarity of the sites seems obvious, and the Hunyvers Group emphasizes significant synergies with motorhome concessions, as the similarity of the concessions' business models and needs for financial management, human resources or marketing, is strong.
Hunyvers says it remains on the lookout for boating opportunities in the Mid-West Atlantic region.
