New premises for K-Ren covers
The young company K-Ren, which manufactures and markets covers for boat hulls, alternatives to antifouling paint, is moving to new premises. The company has moved to Mauguio, near Montpellier, in a site that allows it to group together in one place the seamstresses, the sales staff, the engineers and the management.
VDM Reya becomes Ritchie distributor
American magnetic compass manufacturer Ritchie Navigation has signed a distribution agreement with French company VDM-Reya. The subsidiary of the Alliance Marine group will now offer Made in USA compasses. Ritchie is continuing its ongoing business relationship with distributor Proxam.
Uber sets up in the nautical sector in Greece
After attempts in London and San Francisco for daily boat transportation, via partnerships with relative success, Uber is launching an Uber Boats offer in Greece. Customers will be able to book via the mobile app a boat for their private use around Mykonos, for up to 8 people.
Railblaza strengthens its logistics in Europe
New Zealand-based fishing and marine leisure equipment brand Railblaza is opening a new logistics facility for the European market. This warehouse, based in the Netherlands, will have stock to meet EMEA demand, starting with orders from May 31, 2023.
Suzuki anticipates exchange rate difficulties
The Suzuki Group has released its consolidated results for 2022. Sales increased by +30.1% to 4,641.6 billion yen, or 30.97 billion euros. Net income reached 2.55 billion euros.
The Navy posted a 37.3% year-on-year increase in sales to 134.6 billion yen, or 900 million euros.
In view of exchange rate trends and the major investments planned, Suzuki, which expects revenues to increase by 5.6% in 2023 thanks to higher sales, anticipates a decline in operating income.
