Innovative electric thrusters combining performance and ease of integration

Hy-Generation offers a high performance electric thruster technology, ideal for displacement boats. With integration solutions and modular equipment, the RIM6 and RIM14 can equip a wide range of pleasure boats, new or refit.

Robust, high-performance technology

Hy-Generation's RIM electric thrusters are based on a shaftless permanent magnet technology. This technology offers several advantages to the brand's thrusters. With motors positioned as close as possible to the blades, they do not require any gearing or angle drive, which ensures a high energy efficiency, between 85 and 90%, when conventional solutions are around 55%. The torque is ideally transmitted, with good thrust.

By limiting the number of mechanical parts, the risk of breakage is low, and maintenance, whether preventive or curative, is simplified. The weight is also moderate, 15 kg excluding battery for the 6kW model, replacing thermal units of 20 horsepower of about 40 kilos. It is thus easily transportable.

The absence of a shaft increases the robustness of the system against floating debris, while preventing algae and aquatic weeds from blocking the propulsion system.
Other advantages are the 360° rotation which facilitates the most complex maneuvers, as well as hydrogenation, an additional asset included in Hy-Generation thrusters.

A modular offer, easy to integrate

The RIM6 and RIM14 can be integrated from the design stage by the engineering offices on a new boat, but also in retrofit on an existing boat. To best meet the different scenarios, Hy-Generation has developed a modular offer. The integration of the thruster can be done quickly on a conventional transom, whether or not it is equipped with an engine chair. Depending on the configuration, the engine can be raised vertically or tilted.

To simplify the work of the installer, energy packs complete the offer. Configured according to customers' autonomy and recharging needs, the batteries and chargers are pre-wired to facilitate installation.

A new model for boats up to 8 tons

Launched with the 6kW RIM 6, the range has been extended with a 14 kW model. The RIM14 is still intended for displacement units weighing up to 8 tons. Its operating point is optimized for speeds of 7 to 8 knots. It is ideal for rental boat fleets, as an auxiliary to catamarans, for harbor services or for professionals looking to move heavy loads.

Hy-Generation, which manufactures entirely in Brittany, is now developing its network to serve customers more locally.
