Relaunch of the Lézardrieux sail loft
Closed for a few years, the former sailmaker Voiles Performance is reborn under the banner Delta Voiles. The premises, taken over by the Delta Voiles Pordic team, will reopen on April 1, 2023. François Le Guern, manager of the company, explains: "We seized this opportunity to open in Lézardrieux, by taking over the sail loft and its floor. This allows us to establish ourselves in the area north of Pordic. Stéphane Letertre has become a partner in the sailmaker's shop and we have hired two people who will work in Lézardrieux."
Service to local boaters
Delta Voiles Lézardrieux will be dedicated to sail repair service, but also to rigging work with an adapted crimping machine. The floor has been enlarged to a surface of 60 m2 to handle sails of greater quantity and size. The work will be complementary to that of the Pordic sail loft, says François Le Guern: "The design of the sails is still done by Delta Voiles' head office in the south, and the sails are then made in Brittany at our place. We can make sails for boats up to 45 feet. In cruising, our customers have their home port between Saint-Malo and Brest, while in racing, we reach all of Brittany."
Growth ambitions
Delta Voiles does not intend to stop there in the Côtes-d'Armor. Its manager sees opportunities in the local regatta, but also in the neighboring shipyards: "We have set ourselves the goal of doubling the size of the floor within 2 years. Locally, there is a development in the construction of new boats as well, with Bord à Bord developing its range. Our new organization allows us to streamline our work tool and make larger sails."
