A local production
All Marlec's production comes from its factory in Corby, Great Britain. It is the only European manufacturer of micro wind turbines for the marine and terrestrial markets. ISO 9001 certified and present in more than 60 countries, it forges its DNA on the values of quality, customer service and performance. Its flagship products are the Rutland wind turbines and the Spectra PERC-S and Spectralite solar panels.
Rutland wind turbines
Entirely made in the Corby factory, even the mast and the shrouds, nearly 120.000 Rutland wind turbines have already been sold. The range consists of 3 models for marine and 3 for land, some of them available in 12V, 24V and 48V.
The reputation of these models was built on :
- The quality
Each wind turbine is tested when it leaves the factory, so that failure when the product is unpacked is unknown at Marlec! - The performance
Rutland wind turbines are efficient even in light wind. The load starts at 3 knots of wind. - The very low noise level
Rutland wind turbines are particularly quiet. Wind tunnel tests were conducted and it was virtually impossible to discern the noise of the turbine from that of the wind. - Permanent technical follow-up
Spare parts are still available, even for older models that are no longer on the market.
The reference, the Rutland 1200
The Rutland 1200 wind turbine is the best-seller of the range. It generates up to 500W. Elegant, aerodynamic and of small size, it is particularly appreciated by the navigators. Totally electronic, its hybrid wind/solar regulator is extremely precise in its measurements and allows to optimize the charge of the battery while increasing its longevity.
Spectra PERC-S and Spectralite solar panels
This year 2023, Marlec has expanded its range of Spectra PERC-S rigid solar panels and has introduced a brand new range of Spectralite SemiFlex Pro semi-flexible solar panels.
Recognized in the world of rigid solar panels, the Spectra PERC-S is designed and developed for Marlec. Having largely proved themselves in the terrestrial field, they are today available for the sailors with a range which is reinforced with two models 240W and 300W, covering from now on the powers from 30 to 400 W, knowing that it is also possible, on request to have powers higher than 400W!
After a year of studies and field tests, Marlec puts on the market a range of semi-flexible solar panels that consists of 4 models: 50W, 100W, 150W and 200W.
The objective is to offer a range of high performance, resistant and specially designed for the nautical environment. Professional and industrial components have been used to design this range, including
- SunPower Maxeon back contact cells of the latest generation.
- An internal aluminum plate to prevent cell cracking and improve panel performance by dissipating heat.
- A professional DuPont ETFE polymer coating that is impact resistant, non-slip and self-cleaning. It is therefore possible to walk on these panels, with sailing shoes of course.
- A single-cable waterproof junction box makes it easy to connect to the charge controller, and all panels are equipped with mounting lugs for mobile installations.
