An almost doubled surface
Seaview Progress moved to new premises in Fréjus in early 2023. The distributor, a specialist in pleasure craft equipment, has acquired a modern tool, in line with its activity, explains Jean-Didier Martial, its manager. "Our old buildings were not up to the company's standards. We are moving from 600 m2 to 1100 m2, in completely new premises built for us, while remaining in the same business area, 500 meters from the old address."
A production activity
The new premises also allow Seaview Progress to continue to expand its business spectrum. New brands should be announced during 2023, while others are gaining momentum. Fendertex textile fenders, until now purely distributed, will now be equipped by Seaview Progress themselves. The accessories and finishing seams will be made in Fréjus, from the brand's knitted tubes. For this purpose, 100 m2 have been fitted out for the sewing, next to the 1 000 m2 for the logistics and the offices.
Recruitment in progress
Faced with a demanding market, Seaview Progress is strengthening its teams. At the beginning of 2023, the company employed about fifteen people, and has set an ambitious recruitment target to reach twenty employees by summer 2023. Jean-Didier Martial states: "Our objective is to be able to stay ahead of the market and no longer be subjected to it, while remaining on a choice of quality products. We are recruiting one person in the UK, one export sales person in France, one person in logistics and another in administration."
The market context remains positive for the manager who concludes: "The supply problem is less than before because we have learned to anticipate it and order well in advance. And for flagship products like PSS, manufactured by our associates in the United States, we've been able to invest and be more and more self-sufficient."
