Sarzeau joins the Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan
The Compagnie des Ports du Morbihan has a new shareholder. The Commune of Sarzeau, on the Rhuys peninsula, has joined the local public company of the Breton department, via the acquisition of 290 shares for 20 010 Âeuros. The decision, voted by the municipal council on February 6, 2023, will enable it to benefit from the services of the port manager.
Silent Yachts launches its first Made in Italy boat
The builder of electro-solar multihulls Silent Yachts has launched the first catamaran from its Italian factory, a Silent 60. The shipyard, acquired in 2022, in Fano on the Adriatic coast, has 22,000 m2 and has seen its number of employees triple in 2022.
Death of Jan-Erik Nyfelt
Co-founder of the high-end sailboat shipyard Baltic Yachts, Jan-Erik Nyfelt, known as Janne, died on January 28, 2023. He was one of the five pioneers of the Finnish brand. Son of a sailboat builder, he had worked in the shipyards since his childhood, participating in the beginnings of the Nautor shipyard and the famous Swan.

77 million for clean marine technologies
The United Kingdom has announced the release of a £77 million grant for the maritime sector. Over two years, it will support projects aimed at developing zero-emission boats, whether for maritime transport or tourism and leisure activities. a further £7.4 million will be invested in university projects.
