Changes in the management of Bénéteau
Yann Masselot has been appointed Director of Brands and Communications for the Bénéteau Group's Boat Division. Active within the Bénéteau Group since 1992, and a figure of Lagoon between 2000 and 2020, he was head of the Bénéteau brand since October 2020.
To replace him, the group has announced the arrival of Jean-François Lair as head of the parent brand Bénéteau. He arrived in 2005 and was in charge of sales, exports and the Bénéteau America division, before becoming Lagoon's EMEA director until January 1, 2023.
New management at CDK Technologies
Stéphane Digard succeeds Cyril Abiteboul as Deputy Managing Director of CDK Group. Present in ocean racing for almost 30 years, he was already Deputy Managing Director of CDK Technologies and played a key role in the recent development of the shipyard.
Skipper Loïck Peyron is appointed chairman of the shipyard's strategic council.
Sylvain Ory leaves Honda
After 8 years with Honda France, where he was head of sales, Sylvain Ory is leaving the Japanese outboard engine manufacturer. He joins the Jeanneau brand as sales manager for Northern Europe.
Clément Daël joins Lagoon
After creating the French branch of Navigare Yachting, Clément Daël joined the Bénéteau Group in the catamaran business. In January 2023, he took on the position of EMEA sales director for the Lagoon brand.
New presidency at NMEA
The National Marine Electronics Association, better known as NMEA, has renewed its board. The presidency is taken for a 3 years term by Brian Kane, from Gost. Richard Baker of Garmin is the vice-president, while Jim George, Mark Roche and Ryan Martin are the three new directors.
A general secretary for the Ultim Class
The Ultim 32/23 class, which has been criticized for some time for its governance, has acquired a general secretary. Stéphane Guilbaud, ex-Beneteau dealer and well known to the ocean racing teams in Orma or on the Jules Verne, has taken on this new position.
