A know-how from the automotive industry
Aqua superPower was born in 2019 in the UK. After selling his electric car charging station management business, the second largest player in the market, to Engie, Alex Bamberg is relaunching this new entity with his already experienced team to bring to the boating market: maritime, lake and river. the services of fast chargers. Aqua superPower offers marinas, marinas and boat fleet operators turnkey fast charging stations, as well as their management and operation.
A profitable business model
For marina managers and owners, the operation does not involve any investment. In fact, Aqua superPower provides the physical equipment, i.e. the charging station, and is responsible for its maintenance, as well as the management of the end-user of the charging station. The electricity sales service is managed by Aqua superPower. The margin is then shared between the port owner and Aqua superPower.
Alex Bamberg insists: "For the marina, it is the possibility of offering an additional service to its boaters. It takes full advantage of the interests of the ecological transition."
Aqua superPower also installs charging stations for rental boat fleet managers. They can charge their own boats, taking advantage of its dedicated infrastructure. The company's founder explains: "It's a security and a business advantage. We started on the Italian lakes of Garda, Como and Maggiore."
Know-how and services
Aqua superPower's offering is based on the know-how acquired in the automotive industry and in particular in the development of a first class cloud-based management software. Alex Bamberg states: "This is the key to electric mobility. Services are essential. Knowing at all times where you can charge, if the terminal is free at what distance... As you can see on our application. Our experience in dealing with manufacturers acquired in the automotive industry facilitates the technical implementation. We have strategic partnerships with Delphia, Volvo Penta..."
Aqua SuperPower's objective is now to accelerate the deployment of its charging stations, already present in France in Cannes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez, but also in the United States, Sweden, Spain and Portugal. A target of 22 terminals between Menton and Marseille has been set to create a traffic corridor, but also to set up in the Atlantic and inland waterways.
