Training for marine surveyors at INB
Meeting on December 8, 2022 at the Yacht Club de France, the INB and the National Chamber of Maritime Surveyors (CNEMP) signed a partnership agreement to set up a training program. This new proposal, which has been developed jointly since 2021, aims to build a whole training program to improve the skills of marine surveyors. The training will be given at both Concarneau and Villefranche-sur-Mer and will be accessible to both CNEMP members and professionals outside the CNEMP.
Maintenance of skills and training of young experts
INB will draw on its in-house expertise in various fields, from composites to mechanics or electromechanics, including electricity and rigging. A 3-year program has been established to start this partnership.
It will also be a question of going beyond these traditional fields," emphasizes Laurent Winisky, director of the INB: "It is also a challenge, for our structure, to bring skills especially in connection with the development of new technologies, to maritime experts who have been active for many years."
The profession of marine surveyor includes many people who have been working for a long time. The CNEMP, which gathers about a hundred surveyors, also counts on the partnership to allow a renewal and avoid the effects of an unbalanced age pyramid. Its president, Thierry Hardouin, explains in conclusion: "Beyond the professionals in situation, the objective is also to train new pretenders to the profession of expert, the generational curve showing a significant number of retirements in the years to come."
