Digital Nautic acquired by Nautic Manager
A subsidiary of the online boat rental platform SamBoat, itself linked to Dream Yacht, Nautic Manager has been developing dematerialized management tools for professional charterers since 2019. The company has just taken a new step by signing the acquisition of its competitor Digital Nautic on November 30, 2022. Active since 2014, this solution from the start-up Hey Captain, had been taken over in 2018 by the Bénéteau Group, which had integrated it into its Band of Boats platform. The Vendée-based yachting leader is finally selling the brand and assets to SamBoat, with the staff remaining at Band of Boats.
Create a European leader in boat rental
Digital Nautic and Nautic Manager together have a significant market share in the small motorboat rental sector. Laurent Calando, CEO of Nautic Manager, states: "Digital Nautic has over 130 rental companies and Nautic Manager has about 50. There are just over 150,000 bookings per year."
With an activity in 7 languages and 6 countries, the management aims to reach a European leader status. Camille Raymond, head of Digital Nautic indicates: "Today there is no specialized daily boat rental solution in the world, this is a unique opportunity for us."
Technical synergies for rental companies
Initially, Nautic Manager and Digital Nautic will continue in parallel, but each tool will benefit from the other's developments and strengths, until a single tool is available, probably in 2024. Laurent Calando already sees synergies: "Today, Nautic Manager was only synchronized with SamBoate and Digital Nautic with Click&Boat and GlobeSailor. The dematerialized contract, very advanced in Nautic Manager, will be adapted to Digital Nautic for example. We will benefit from the development capabilities and work on the next topics like autonomous contracts so that the customer can do autonomously without the rental company."
The recruitment of 3 people should quickly reinforce the teams.
