A multi-connected bracelet
We have known for a few years the bracelets intended to be worn by boaters and people practicing water sports, in order to emit an alert signal in case of emergency. HIJ, newcomer on the market, bets on the multiplicity of technologies to improve the safety of the sailor.
Alain Le Meur, founder of the company, explains: "Our bracelet is connected to 3 networks. The first one is a terrestrial SigFox network, which works with the frequencies we have chosen in Europe, Africa and in the French overseas departments and territories. The other 2 work with LoRaWAN, without the need for terrestrial coverage. This provides coverage around a boat for divers or crew members off shore, or kite surfers from a beach. The coverage is several kilometers. With the suitcases we provide, it allows to have the position in real time, and not only the place where the wrecked person fell. The rescue services, the SNSM or the CROSS can go directly to the right place."
The bracelet, which integrates a flash light, has a scratch fastening. It can thus be fixed to the life jacket, and not necessarily to the wrist, in order to be at the highest point, according to the use, in boat, in kayak, in kite...
A service for sailing schools
If the wristband emits for any user, HIJ sees its first market in the sailing or diving schools. They will be able to buy the bracelets or rent them to HIJ. They will then be able to use them to secure the practice of their sport: locate a catamaran, a kitesurfer or a group of divers drifting... The rental of the beacon can be integrated to the equipment rental, limiting the investment for the practitioner. We can also imagine renting it when arriving on a beach with his own equipment. Alain Le Meur explains: "The cost of the bracelet should be around 300 euros. But on a rental, we come down to about 87 cents, where the average rental is 18euros. We would go to 19euros."
HIJ also wishes to these schools to become local resellers to individuals who would like to do so.
