Paris, Nancy, Lyon, Strasbourg... Engine power's workshop truck criss-crosses the roads and towpaths to help boaters who have been betrayed by the mechanics or technique of their boat. Fortunately, their services are not often needed, but it is good to know that they exist and to keep their contact information at hand.
A telephone contact
It all starts with the first phone call. Alain Vienne has a direct contact, a strong voice and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of boats, their mechanics and the breakdowns that can occur. He makes a pre-diagnosis and notes the references of the incriminated equipment so that the technician arrives with the necessary tools and parts. Once the appointment is made, it usually takes less than 24 to 48 hours before you see the white truck arrive on the towpath.
The meaning of troubleshooting
Once on board, the technician tests, dismantles, refines the diagnosis, but above all he explains, advises and proposes solutions. This is a far cry from the caricature of the mute mechanic who examines your installation and then decides that everything needs to be changed... Whenever possible, the Engine Power team does its best to get you back on the road, even if it means recommending a more reliable and permanent repair as soon as possible.
Wherever you are
The number of interventions that have saved pleasant or professional sailings is countless. But the workshop truck does not only carry out repairs: imagine that you have to change an engine, install a generator or modify an installation. A team can come and intervene where the boat is, without the need to transport or haul it away. This is comfortable and economical, both in time and money!
A mobile workshop
The workshop truck is large, orderly and very well equipped. The technician has all the usual tools, basic parts, but also a 10-ton press and lifting equipment for handling parts up to 1.5 tons. The technician also has on board all the equipment to secure and dry a boat which would have undergone a water way.
Parts and engines available
Engine Power also has a large workshop in Pouilly-sur-Saône (Côte d'Or) and a Vetus store. New engines are just waiting to hum, and entire shelves are stocked with control cables, thrusters and other spare parts that are difficult to find elsewhere on the river network. This stock is one of the assets that allows the shipyard to be so reactive during breakdowns but also to offer a particularly wide range of new equipment.
On site, we carry out all maintenance work but we also recondition marine engines. This allows us to provide a standard exchange as soon as possible in the event of a serious breakdown. However, here, mechanics is not a mysterious thing, inaccessible to laymen. We explain, we consider various solutions and if the technical thing remains a matter of specialist, the customer is not excluded from the choice of solutions.
