Cannes Yachting Festival: "Consolidating ever greener developments

The innovation area of the Cannes Yachting Festival is growing

The organizers of the Cannes Yachting Festival specify the framework of the 2022 show. The nautical event wants to be even more ecological and innovative, building on the initiatives launched in 2021, as explained by Sylvie Ernoult, its director.

Reinforce the initiatives launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021

As the 2022 edition of the Cannes Boat Show approaches, its organizers have unveiled some figures and elements of the program for the yachting industry's back-to-school event. The focus will be on innovation and the transition of the yachting industry, insists Sylvie Ernoult, director of the Cannes Yachting Festival. "We want to reinforce the topics launched last year, around electric boats, innovation and the Green Route. We have had good feedback from visitors and there are more exhibitors who wanted to register. It is up to us to communicate more and to better publicize the Green Route. As for the innovation area, we are consolidating this development with our partner BNP by adding a few more stands. The test area was also a success, but we don't have the space to expand it at the moment."

More and more boats on display

As for the offer of boats afloat and on land, the Cannes Yachting Festival director is optimistic despite the uncertainties linked to an unstable market and supplies. "We have even more exhibitor requests than last year. We had 620 boats on display last year. I think we're capable of having 640 in 2022. It always depends on different factors, if a boat is not finished in time, if the weather prevents the delivery in the planning for the show... And we try to keep small exhibitors, even if they only have one boat. Obviously the risk can be greater."

The show organizers announce a total of 550 exhibitors and 140 boats in preview. It will take place, as is now customary, between Port Canto for sailing and the Old Port for motor boats. New this year, the manager of the Old Port has changed, the contract having been taken over by the multinational IGY Marinas. "We're discovering the work together, but it will be totally transparent to visitors." says Sylvie Ernoult reassuringly in conclusion.
