New premises and a joint company
The commercial development company Marine Mobile Diffusion (MMD) and the wholesaler and distributor specializing in electricity Delta Equipement Marine (DEM) have joined forces under the same holding company, bringing together in its shareholding the director of DEM, Christine Gabriel, and the two founders of MMD, Eric Lerendu and Richard Demeule.
Beyond the capital aspect, the two companies are integrating a common building in Saint-Herblain, a suburb of Nantes. "The new 550 m2 premises, with the possibility of creating additional mezzanines, will enable us to increase storage space, particularly for electrical cables, which require more space. It also gives us a common work place", says Richard Demeule, president of the holding company.
The installation in Nantes is strategic for the supply of the shipyards and the relations with represented customers, like Goïot Systems, the Compagnie Hydrotechnique or Soliège, also established in the Nantes area.
A dynamic initiated since 2018
The rapprochement of the 2 companies follows a process that began at the beginning of the collaboration between DEM and MMD in 2018. The distributor DEM, created in 1981, has relied on MMD to develop its activity with the merger in mind. With a turnover more than doubled over the period, it became logical for the 2 companies to move to this new stage under a common holding.
Developing the supply and base of marine electricity
From now on, MMD will continue its development program, through its various distribution cards, to strengthen and diversify. "We have a real specialty in marine electricity with great brands represented like DHR, TKF, Dutch Electro or Uvoji at Delta Equipement Marine, and also Energie Mobile. We also work on our other MMD partner brands. A new person will arrive on September 5, 2022 to reinforce the team in sales administration and trade" says Richard Demeule.
