18 Meuros for the sustainable development of the coastline

Created in 2022, the Maritime Intervention Fund (FIM) launched by the Ministry of the Sea and piloted by the Directorate General of Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture, aims to support all actors in the maritime and coastal life, both private and public, in their investment projects, studies or specific intervention to develop the sector. For the year 2022, it has been allocated 17.5 million euros in commitment authorizations and 15 million euros in payment credits from the Maritime Affairs budget.

In line with the various documents established, in particular the maritime façade strategies, the FIM will support 3 main themes in 2022:

  • coastal development in favor of maritime activities
  • development of the blue economy and planning
  • training for the maritime professions

Within the theme of development, the Ministry is interested in heritage boats, as well as the management of wrecks and abandoned ships, anchorage areas and land-based facilities that may include marinas, all of which are of concern to the boating industry.
