JEC World 2022: Composite Materials Meeting to Return Soon

JEC World is back from May 3 to 5, 2022. The leading international trade fair for composite construction is once again being held at the gates of Paris. Technical information, demonstrations and inspirations are on the agenda for the nautical industry, in contact with the aeronautical, automotive and construction industries.

The essential meeting place for composites

For many years, JEC World has been the reference trade show for composite materials. While the 2020 and 2021 editions had been cancelled due to Covid, the 2022 edition, voluntarily shifted from winter to spring, will be held from May 3 to 5, 2022 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte exhibition center. In 2019, the show had welcomed more than 43,500 visitors, coming from 112 countries. More than 1,300 exhibitors, representing all aspects of the composite industry, from fiber and resin producers to designers and car and aircraft manufacturers, occupied 28 regional pavilions covering 76,000 square meters. In 2022, the number of exhibitors announced is comparable and the platform. More than 80 machines will be on display. JEC World Connect should make up for the travel difficulties of some international visitors.

Sustainable composites and 3D printing

The exhibition will be organized around 5 hubs and villages, and 2 Innovation Planets. These are thematic zones and innovative product exhibitions.

A major issue for the composite materials industry for many years, the question of sustainable development is at the heart of the themes of many conferences. Reuse, recycling and bio-materials are always on the menu. A natural fiber village will be dedicated to this topic.

There will also be a 3D printing village, an Industry 4.0 Hub, a Startup Booster village and a Campus dedicated to education and training.

The two innovation planets are showcase areas dedicated to industry and mobility.

JEC Innovation Awards

The winners of the JEC Innovation Awards 2022 were revealed ahead of the show. They include marine applications with Voith's Carbon4Stack prepreg blades and Bcomp Ltd's ready-to-use bonding between thermoset and thermoplastic bio-composites. The Kairos company of yachtsman Roland Jourdain also stands out for its compostable Kairlin material made from flax fibers.
