Oscar boards at Outremer

On the occasion of the multihull show, the manufacturer of the Oscar camera UFO detection system revealed its first collaboration with the Outremer shipyard on board an Outremer 51. This is another step in the brand's desire to develop in the yachting sector, alongside its ocean racing market.

Fanale Marine signs with Suzuki

The Corsican semi-rigid boat manufacturer Fanale Marine has announced the signing of an original equipment agreement with the outboard motor manufacturer Suzuki. The entire range of motorboats, from the Rundinella to the Libecciu 10000, will be equipped with the Japanese brand's products in pre-rigging.

La Rochelle continues to bet on the Class 40

The port of La Rochelle has been designated as the host city for the start of The Race Around the World in Class 40. The sailboats and skippers, both double-handed and single-handed, will leave the Charente port on September 10, 2023. This is a sign of La Rochelle's interest in the Class 40, for which it will soon host the World Championships.

Mer Concept signs partnerships

François Gabart's company Mer Concept has signed two partnerships in quick succession. MerConcept's LAB, an R&D structure, has signed a contract with Alstom for the optimization of its data analysis. This partnership, which draws on Alstom's Data Science expertise, includes an in-depth analysis of navigation data, followed by the creation of algorithms to optimize the speed of ocean racing boats.

An agreement has also been signed with Deloitte to work on the construction of navigation reports, in order to optimize energy performance, and to evaluate consumption and emissions generated during sea trips. The development of these tools will be largely based on data from the electric hydrofoil catamaran, MerConcept's first diversification project, launched a few weeks ago. Deloitte will also support the LAB in structuring its IT infrastructure and data management.

Tecmar distributes Sunbeam

The pleasure equipment distributor Tecmar is expanding its offer with the Sunbeam System brand of solar panels. It presents for the first time this range on the multihull show of La Grande Motte.

Fire at IMS Shipyard

A fire broke out around 2:30 am on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the IMS 300 shipyard in Saint-Mandrier. It almost completely destroyed the 30-meter yacht Lady Améthyste, which was waiting on the site before its departure, the owner having not wished to carry out his work there.
