Zeelander expands to build more boats
Faced with a strongly increasing order book, which has doubled for 2022, the Dutch shipyard Zeelander Yachts has announced a strong investment in its industrial tool. The working area in the shipyard has been enlarged by 1,200 m² for the construction of the boats and the carpentry, mechanical and electrical workshops.
Your Boat Club partners with Navigare Yachting
The Your Boat Club network has announced the signing of a partnership with the boat rental company Navigare Yachting. The customers of the boat club will benefit from advantages in all the bases of the rental company. It should be noted that the Bénéteau group is a shareholder in both structures.
Akzo Nobel expands resin production capacity
The Akzo Nobel Group, which specializes in paints, particularly in the marine sector with the Awl Grip and International brands, has announced the expansion of its resin manufacturing plant, which is essential for the composition of paints. The investment should help secure supplies in a raw material sector under pressure and contribute 15 to 20 million euros to EBITDA by 2023.
Dromeas Yachts expands its factory
Turkish shipyard Dromeas Yachts has announced the opening of new buildings for the construction of its boats. The addition of 7,000 square meters dedicated to composites brings to 12,000 square meters the surface available for the production of the brand's powerboats.
More nautical establishments in the National Education
3 new high schools have joined the network of nautical campuses and high schools, which now includes 21 establishments:
- the Pierre Guéguineuros high school in Concarneau (29),
- the Saint-Gabrieleuros vocational high school in Pont-l'Abbéeuros (29),
- the Jules Raimu Vocational High School in Nîmeseuros(30)
Mercury Marine extends joystick to bow thrusters
Engine manufacturer Mercury Marine is upgrading its Joystick Piloting for Outboards (JPO) system. The system can now simultaneously drive Mercury outboards and bow thrusters from Vetus and Sleipner. It opens up the market for larger boats, without the need to modify existing joystick hardware. The JPO with Bow Thruster solution will be available in April 2022 for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
