A boat monitoring and control solution
Raymarine unveils its new ecosystem called YachtSense. The solution from the British marine electronics specialist is based on the Raymarine mobile application and the new YachtSense Link marine mobile router. Installed onboard, it connects the boater to his or her boat to monitor and act on various parameters of critical onboard equipment.
Wifi and 4G connection with the boat
Once the boat is equipped with the YachtSense Link router, communication with the remote boater is done via the 4G/LTE network using the Raymarine app interface, available on iOS and Android. The unit then communicates via Local Wifi with the electronics and electrical components on board. The boat's owner can monitor the instruments and NMEA 2000 data from his smartphone, and receive alerts. He can also use his screen as an additional Raymarine screen, but nomadic, when sailing on board.
Home automation on board the boat
The power modules associated with YachtSense also allow the boater to have actions on the equipment on board. He can activate the bilge pumps or control the lighting, bringing modern home automation on board the boat.
Boat safety options
For a subscription to Raymarine Premium, the boater has a GoeFence feature. This feature alerts boaters if their boat is outside of their defined perimeter, has slipped on its anchor or has been stolen.
The Raymarine mobile app can be downloaded for free on iOS and Google Play. The new YachtSense Link marine mobile router is available for $1,295euros. For YachtSense Link users, a free six-month trial period is available for Raymarine Premium remote monitoring. After the trial period, Raymarine Premium subscriptions are priced at $18 per month, $95 for six months or $175 per year.
