A long experience of travel boats
Hakim Rahmoun is far from being an unknown in the yachting industry. He arrived at the head of the Olbia shipyard in 2000, and was its figurehead until 2020, when he took over the management of the Alubat shipyard for almost 2 years. From New World to the UFOs, his knowledge of the aluminum sailboat is no longer to be demonstrated.
It is during these years, that he makes the observation which leads him to create APY Projet in October 2021. "Owners of long distance boats often tend to get lost when it comes to making decisions. The shipyard can help them, but we must admit that clients have less and less experience and the lack of decision can block and complicate the situation. My role is to help them with these choices," explains Hakim Rahmoun.
An intermediary between the client, the shipyards and the architects
When clients contact APY, the boat project is most often already underway. "Usually they've already seen an architect, but they don't always know exactly what they're ordering. I take the architect's plan. I explain it to the client, criticize it and adapt it to fit the client's choices. Then, I write the consultation book and I help him to choose the building sites and the different participants. I can be an assistant project manager, or even a project manager if necessary" summarizes the founder of APY.
A growing travel boat market
In a context of development of long-distance sailing, APY can reach many candidates for travel. "I can be recommended by architects or shipyards. Today, I am especially recognized in the world of aluminum sailboats. I also have contacts for customizing production catamarans for travel. This becomes really interesting and important for clients with budgets of 800 000 to 1 Meuros, that is to say boats of more than 16 to 18 meters" illustrates Hakim Rahmoun.
Launched recently, the company is currently working on the Marlin Blue project, an 18-meter aluminum sailboat, at the stage of consultation with shipyards.
