Simrad embarks on Venetian cab boats

Marine electronics manufacturer Simrad has announced a partnership with Cantieri Nautici Vizianello, manufacturer of the new generation of Venice water cabs, with hybrid engines. The marine equipment manufacturer will supply the Simrad Command system, in charge of monitoring the thermal and electric motors.

U.S. Solid Boat Market

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has released its forecast for powerboat sales in 2021. The year is expected to end with a slight decline of 4-6% from the 2020 record, but still above 300,000 boats sold. Growth is 7% over the average over the last 5 years. NMMA projections for 2022 anticipate 3% growth.

Foil and Co integrates its new premises

The specialist in the manufacture of carbon appendages, Foil and Co, manufacturer of the AFS, AHD, Sealion and Nahskwell brands, has moved its premises to its new site in the Gorréquer industrial estate in Pencran in Finistère. The new site, which was cramped in its original location in Le Tréhou, allows the company to increase its production capacity in a booming marine leisure market.

New branch agreement for the provident fund

The social partners of the French nautical industry have announced the signature of a branch agreement on the provision of heavy risks. The text was signed by CFDT, CFE-CGC, FO and FIN on December 21.

It requires all companies in the sector to take out a provident contract guaranteeing protection against a number of risks for non-managerial employees and their dependents (death, funeral, education of children in the event of the insured's death, incapacity, disability). The contribution allocated to the financing of these guarantees must represent at least 0.70% of the reference salary of the insured employee. At least half of this minimum amount (0.35% of the reference salary) must be paid by the employer.

Companies have until January 1, 2023 to comply with these obligations.
