Dometic acquires Italian energy specialist NDS
Dometic Group has announced the acquisition of Pescara-based Italian company NDS Energy. The company supplies equipment for mobile energy management in the various fields of outdoor leisure activities, including boating. It offers chargers, inverters and batteries for electrical storage, as well as solar panels for recharging. The company employs 25 people. Founded in 1999, the NDS brand became an independent company in 2013. It achieved sales of up to 11 million euros in 2021. 75% of these are for distribution and aftermarket, including through a European network, with over 200 dealers in Italy, Spain, Germany, France, England, Benelux, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Dometic's expansion strategy continues
The new acquisition follows a series of energy-related buyouts for Dometic in 2021 in the U.S., Australia and Europe, including Valterra, Enerdrive, Zamp Solar and Büttner Elektronik. With this transaction, for an undisclosed amount to be effective in the first quarter of 2022, the Swedish equipment manufacturer continues its strategy of diversifying and developing aftermarket activities, for less dependence on the fluctuations of new construction, especially of boats.
