A positive trend for the yachting industry
The week of November 8-14, 2021 brought back bad memories for the yachting industry. Worried as everyone else about the general news of the resurgent Covid-19 epidemic in Europe, the global boating industry was equally concerned for METS Trade 2021. The specter of a last-minute cancellation of the world's leading yachting equipment show, as many events have experienced since 2020, hung over the show until Friday, November 12. So it was with relief that everyone welcomed the announcement by the organizers that it would be held, as the Dutch government's decisions did not prevent it.
But will the world of boating be present?
However, after the relief, questions emerged. Materially, what logistical consequences will the containment have on people staying away from the exhibition? What individual health risks will professionals want to take? And as a business owner, what risk can you make your employees take? From a commercial point of view, will my customers and suppliers be present? In two words, is it worth the risk?
The observation of the communications on the professional networks and the email returns of the different meetings showed numerous withdrawals of exhibitors coming from different European countries. Faced with this, the BoatIndustry team has finally decided not to go to Amsterdam, while wishing the exhibitors the best possible show. Do not hesitate to contact us to exchange on the finds and innovations that we could have discovered in Amsterdam, while waiting to test them physically in the months to come.
