Victor Nautisme succeeds LJB Marine
Well established in the French yachting landscape with his company LJB Marine, Louis-Jean Bourdel had already ceased his distribution and sales activities for new boats, notably Hallberg Rassy monohulls and Lagoon catamarans, whose cards had been taken over separately. The boat preparation and maintenance shipyard, as well as the used boat sales activity, also found a buyer, Victor Chinour, who renamed the company Victor Nautisme in March 2021. "I took over the business and the clientele, as well as the know-how with Florian, the employee of Louis-Jean Bourdel. We are installed in the hangar of the street of the Perruche in the port of Minimes, which makes approximately 280 m ² " specifies the young man of 29 years.
Increase the preparation of new boats
Through his new company, Victor Chinour intends to continue LJB Marine's offer, while developing it. "We have already sold a few second-hand boats. We do maintenance and also a little wintering on land that we share with other professionals. I would like to develop the part of preparation of new boats for the shipyards, in cargo departure or before convoying with skipper. I have already hired 2 additional technicians. There are 4 of us, with a strong nautical culture, especially for rigging. We are able to offer a turnkey service for the client, by subcontracting the mechanics," explains the company manager, who obtained a BTS in shipbuilding and trained as a technical salesman at the INB, before working in the shipyard and for Les Glénans.
Opportunities in a renewing nautical industry
When asked about his motivations for taking over LJB Marine, Victor Chinour mentions the nautical context of La Rochelle. "It's a beautiful shipyard. Louis-Jean Bourdel didn't stop because it wasn't working. There is a big generational turnover in La Rochelle among the people in charge of the shipyards, and there is work to do with the builders. We are a bit like the Silicone Valley of French boating. With all the indicators in the green, I said to myself, 'Why not start my own business? "concludes the director of Victor Nautisme.
