Luc Jurien takes over the management of Alubat
While the announcement of Hakim Rahmoun's departure from his position as general manager of the Alubat shipyard had appeared on professional social networks a few days earlier, the Vendée-based aluminum sailboat builder has made public the name of his successor: Luc Jurien. The new leader, who took office on October 10, 2021, has the mission to "continue the development of the shipyard in its dynamic of novelties and production improvement."
A connoisseur of the UFO brand
Trained as an engineer, Luc Jurien is familiar with Alubat's boats and with ocean cruising. He started with 2 years around the world aboard a Maracuja, before buying an Ovni 56 in 2009. He then renovated it for 4 years before embarking with his family for 6 years aboard his sailboat named Bulle. This experience should be a good basis to discuss with his future customers their projects of offshore sailing.
2nd change of management in less than 2 years
The arrival of Luc Jurien is the second change of general manager for Alubat in less than 2 years. Hakim Rahmoun, who arrived to replace Christian Picard in January 2020, will only have stayed for one year and 10 months, but will have continued the dynamic revival of the Alubat shipyard, as evidenced by the recent announcement of the return of the Cigale range of sailboats. It is to be hoped that the change of captain will not change the course of the company, whose new dynamic seems positive.
